This trip is mainly for business (day job & blog work), and I wanted to share my thoughts on what to pack for a two week business trip. Packing Tips
Since I’m going to be in LA for two weeks, I decided to actually bring a bigger suitcase. I thought about trying to be a badass and fit everything in to a carry-on, but then I realized I’m just not that cool LOL. So I’m taking my *medium* sized suitcase, and I must say, it fits everything perfectly! The suitcase I have is pretty standard and is from Macy’s.
I’ve already written a post on minimalist packing tips (here) that you guys can reference for some good general advice, but I also want to share some of my tips for preparing for a trip of this length.
- Don’t underestimate the amount of underwear you will need! Seriously though, I almost never pack enough underwear. My new rule of thumb (after 3 trips where going commando was necessary) is to always take 2-3 extra pairs to make sure you’re in the clear 🙂
- If you’re a woman, pack a pair of leggings and/or sweatpants. OK, this one sounds weird, I know. But I cannot tell you how many trips I’ve gone on where I told myself “naah you won’t need those! You’re gonna want to look cute in your night things!” Well. This is total BS. When it comes right down to it, the most important thing is comfort. So just pack the leggings, OK?
- Don’t forget to bring clothes for outside of work. Last time I went to LA for work, I didn’t bring enough “real life” clothes and ended up wearing some of my girlfriends stuff lol. Don’t forget about the activities you might get up to on the evenings and weekends, even if it’s just dinner or drinks!

I always either under pack or over pack. I agree leggings are clutch and the ones in your photo are really versatile and won’t take up to much space. Def stealing these ideas for my upcoming work trip to Rhode Island.

Another tip is to purposefully book a night at an AirBnB or similar with laundry. I’ve started making an effort to do this and it has made extended travel so much easier. I can do laundry while multitasking or sleeping. It also allows me to pack a bit less, instead of packing more.
