Friday Favorites – Best Pre-Cleansers for ANY Budget!

Happy Friday! I’ve been all about simple and effective skincare products lately, cause let’s be honest, who has time to use a 10-step skincare product routine?? Yeah, def not me. However, there is one extra step in my skincare routine I WILL take, especially if I wear makeup that day…pre-cleansing! If anyone doesn’t know what pre-cleansing is all about, just keep reading cause it’s my holy grail of skincare tips AND I’ve linked three of the best pre-cleansers for any budget to get you started!

Best Pre-Cleansers for Your Budget and Why it's Important
Pre-cleansing is the step you take before you wash your face or use your makeup remover. Usually you use an oil-based cleanser and rub it in to your skin with all your makeup still on, then rinse your face clean. This step alone removes about 95% of my makeup! Then what you want to do is follow-up with your regular cleanser, because it’s important to remove that extra oil from your skin once it’s served it’s purpose. At this step I’ve probably removed 99% of my makeup (and I haven’t had to use any harsh makeup removing products!). If you want that extra clean feel, you can then put a little oil-free makeup remover (I prefer this one from Neutrogena) on a cotton round and wipe any areas you feel may have some makeup residue. When I do this I usually just go over my eyes and brows and neck, and I barely end up with anything on the cotton round. You can also use this pre-cleansing routine when you don’t have any makeup on, as it’s great for removing dirt and unclogging pores as well!
Option #1 – DrugstoreIf you’re on a budget but still want to try out one of the best pre-cleansers, I’d recommend the Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil. This pre-cleanser is less than $10 and available at most drug/grocery stores, as well as Ulta! It’s the one I first started with as well, and I still use it to this day!

Option #2 – Middle of the RoadA great middle ground option (and my absolute FAVORITE pre-cleanser) is the Julep Love Your Bare Face Hydrating Cleansing Oil. This Korean beauty brand has yet to come out with a product I haven’t liked, so it makes sense that I love this pre-cleanser so much. It’s less than $30 (and currently on sale at Ulta!) and is my go-to!
Option #3 – Dermatologist RecommendedIf you’re looking for a product that is dermatologist recommended but still affordable, then definitely check out the Dermalogica Pre-Cleanser. This is one of the best pre-cleansers I’ve ever tried, and it smells soooo good! It’s also under $50, so not a total bank breaker!
