Happy Friday friends! Today I want to talk about those mornings where you need to get ready to leave in a hot minute. Maybe you slept through your alarm and woke up late, or maybe you’re just like me and you lay in bed on Instagram for 15 (or 20, or 35…) minutes. Whatever the scenario, we’ve all had those mornings where we need to be up and out the door in 15 minutes or less. That’s why I’ve partnered up with HerStyler to show you how I get myself together with this 15 minute summer morning routine 🙂
*This post is sponsored by HerStyler and Shopping Links. All content and opinions are my own.*
How to Get Out the Door in 15 Minutes or Less
There are 3 things I do at night that help me be successful with my 15 minute summer morning routine.
#1 – Set out your clothes
Setting out your clothes the night before saves so much time in the morning. I don’t know what it is about mornings, but they make it that much harder to pick out an outfit. Maybe I’m just not awake until I have my coffee, but it always takes me at least 5 minutes (and usually more like 10 or 15) to pick out my outfit. That’s why setting it out the night before is key for me.
#2 – Pack your lunch
Along with setting out my clothes, I also pack my lunch the night before. This is just a tedious task that I really don’t need to do in the morning. Plus, it saves me from deciding I don’t have enough time to actually do it in the morning and buying lunch that day! ***Extra tip: get your coffee ready to go as well! Whether it’s setting the timer for the coffee maker, or just loading up the French press, it will save you a few of those precious minutes in the morning.
#3 – Shower
I get it, some people are morning shower people (me included!). But showering at night saves more time than the previous two tips combined! You can easily spend 20 minutes in the morning washing and drying your hair, so doing it at night’s a real life saver.
Summer Morning Routine
Doing those three things at night really help me to be able to get ready and out the door in the morning in 15 minutes. Instead of worrying about showering, what I’m wearing, and what I’m eating, I can just focus on getting myself together. I like to set my alarm 15 minutes before I actually have to get up, that way I have time to lay in bed and check my e-mail and Instagram. Then, when it’s actually time to get up, all I have to do in the bathroom is wash my face and do my hair.
For my hair, I like to use my HerStyler Straight Brush Pro. This bad boy is a freaking lifesaver! It literally takes me 2 minutes in the morning to do my hair with the Straight Brush Pro #hallelujah. I just turn it on and it heats up to 160 degrees really quickly (it can actually go up to 220 for those of you with thicker/curlier hair). Then I section my hair in to two parts and just start brushing. It really is that simple!
What I really love about my HerStyler Straight Brush Pro is that I get straight hair without the damage. The silicon brush glides through my hair and makes it feel soft, silky, and hydrated. If you are someone who suffers from over-dry or damaged hair, I also recommend adding some of the HerStyler Heat Protective Straightening Cream. Just add a small amount to damp hair and either blow or air dry (I prefer to air dry overnight). This will help protect your hair against heat damage, which is great for me in the summertime!
I hope these tips give you some ideas on how you can cut down your time in the morning. For me, it also helps to cut down on the stress! Also, I love that I can use my HerStyler to do my hair in under 5 minutes, especially since I’ve been wearing it straight lately. There’s really nothing better than having shiny, healthy looking hair in the summer, you know? I love that I can achieve that super easily with the HerStyler Straight Brush Pro!
What’s your summer morning routine? Have you tried these products? Let me know in the comments!

Ugh I need to implement some of these tips (ha!) I am terrible at having everything together and often find myself a scrambled mess in the morning! I never would have though about laying out an outfit the night before, I may have to lay a couple as I tend to change my mind, but still it would save me having to piece them together!!
Brittany says
Thanks for reading Melissa! It’s hard for me to do too, but when I do, I feel so good about myself haha!

What takes up the most time for me is definitely my outfit! Even when trying to set it out the night before it takes forever assembling a cute outfit for me because I am so indecisive! Normally I don’t do much with my hair so I have a little extra time because of that.
Brittany says
You know, sometimes I find that picking out an outfit as quick as I can is the best way haha! I feel like I always look cuter and more effortless when I actually don’t put a lot of effort in to picking out what I’m wearing 🙂 Thanks for readying Melanie!

I try to do as little to my hair as possible, meaning blow drying. I let my hair air dry for a while so I only have to use the blow dryer for a few minutes, less damage to my hair. Sometimes I curl it too.
Brittany says
That’s really smart, blow drying can really damage your hair. I typically let my hair air dry for that reason, but it’s so frizzy that having a tool that straightens without damage is super helpful!
Mayra says
Yasss! To showering at night! It’s such a time saver! Love it!

My morning routine and simple I get up I wash my face I put on cover up that I put on the Mascara and blush, Sometimes I use a bronzer and highlighter just for some definition!!! With my hair are usually don’t last night that much only like 2/3 times a week and I let it air dry and mostly at night so in the morning I just straighten it. I do have a straightening brush, not this one biut something similar and I have used it, I just prefer my straightener since I have frizzy wavy hair and I like it straight with a little curl on the bottom, that’s my go to look!! I curl my hair for special occasions!! I like your tips on how to get ready quicker in the morning!! Having two kids I have learned to cut my routine down to a minimum!!
Christy Peeples DuBois says
I 100% agree on your tips especially picking out what to wear the night before and showering, though I do prefer a morning shower. I have seen these products and wondered how they performed. You have answered my question and it looks like they perform well.

The BEST trick to get ready faster in the morning is so simple! I can’t believe I had to wait 30 years to find out this wonder little trick! If you have long hair, and you sleep with your hair AWAY from your face to avoid acne, etc., take some dry shampoo, and brush your hair into a long ponytail, upside down. Then, turn that into a bun and use something to hold it in place. I cut up old panty hoses for pony tail holders, and they’re great! No snags or hair damage. AnyWAY, once you’ve got your hair brushed up in a bun with dry shampoo, go to sleep, and sweet dreams! When you wake up in the morning, take your hair down and brush it out. Shake, and marvel over how AHmazing your hair looks! Better than a blow out! And SO much better than spending 30 minutes to hours in the shower in the AM! I want my coffee!
Brittany says
Wow girl, I’m totally gonna have to try this when my hair is long enough to put in to a bun, thanks for sharing!
Linda Szymoniak says
I actually get ready in the morning more quickly than anyone I know. I’m involved in animal rescue, so most mornings it’s just a quick wash of my face, some lotion on it, and a brush through my hair. I do need to start wearing more makeup again. Thanks for the tips!
Paula K says

Deborah Caudill says
Those are some easy time saving tips that most everyone can implement so they make it to work on time. Once you have a child or multiple children, you really have no choice but to prepare as much as you possibly can the night before unless you are one of those cheerful “morning people”. You know the ones who get up and do 2 loads of laundry before getting the kids up, fix a huge breakfast every morning and clean the kitchen and make up all the beds before leaving the house. I’m a night owl, so I had to do everything I could the night before. My hair is baby fine and if I didn’t wash and dry it in the morning, it was either flat or all over the place. Messy buns, braids and ponytails saved me because those styles actually do better if you don’t wash your hair that day. I went from a once a day shampoo person to a 3 times a week shampoo person with the help of certain hairstyles and dry shampoo. That saved me so much time that I got the kids to school on time and got to work a few minutes early.
denise low says
Thank you for the great information.
