I’ve lived in Oregon my entire life, and I’m still not tired of exploring Portland and the surround area. It is so diverse and lush, and there is always something to do, no matter the season. Here are a few hings I love about summer time in Portland, Oregon!
Top Things to Do and Explore in Portland
If you’re trying to explore Portland, here are a few things that I love!
- Eating ice cream at Petunia’s – this is a vegan café and it’s sooo yummy!
- Finding random, ginormous boards to take pictures in front of – it’s so weird but honestly super cool! There are tons of murals and street art in the Portland area as well!
- Salishan Lodge with my mom – I’ve stayed here twice and loved the experience both times! This part of the coast has great weather and there are tons to do. I definitely recommend a visit; it’s only an hour and a half outside of Portland!
- Hanging out with friends – in the summer you can hit up the Beer Festival or Saturday Market in Portland.
- Get out in the sunshine! There are also five national parks for camping and hiking across the state, so no excuse not to explore 😉
- Road trips – it’s really easy to travel around the PNW by car and honestly the best way to see all the sites! There are also so many things to do around Portland that are just an hour or two away. Mt. Hood, Cougar Hot Springs, and the coast are a few of my favorites!
Exploring Portland will forever be one of my favorite things to do. Fast forward to 2020 and now I have a daughter and can share my love of exploration with her as well! It’s been amazing seeing this city through her eyes 🙂 What is your favorite thing to do in Portland?
