My wedding was everything I could ever have dreamed. The day went by in a whirlwind, from getting ready in the morning to the moment when we said “I do.” It was the most magical day. But there is one thing I wish I’d have known throughout the wedding planning process. Keep reading to find out what is is!
What’s the Key to Enjoying Wedding Planning?
Looking back there are so many things I would have done differently. But the best wedding planning tip I wish I would have known, is to just RELAX. Relax and enjoy the process. Inshallah (God willing/hopefully…whatever floats your boat 😉 ) this will be the only chance you have to experience all of the magic of getting married, and I really wish I would have been able to take a step back and just enjoy the moment. It wasn’t really until the few weeks before the wedding that I finally realized all the little things I was stressing about making perfect, perfect, perfect, didn’t really matter. What really mattered was experiencing the joy of being engaged to my best friend, and celebrating the start of a lifetime with him.
So if any of you are brides (or grooms!) to be, remember to enjoy this time! It goes by so fast and it is such a wonderful experience. If you’re just starting out planning your wedding, check out this post for some tips!

That is perfect advice. I’m not there yet, but hopefully, fingers crossed, sometime soon. haha! And I am a total type A personality, so I’ll definitely think back to this and just calm down a little, relax, and enjoy the process.

Haha I feel ya girl! I’m super neurotic and I wanted to control everything and for everything to be perfect, but at the end of the day, your wedding is going to feel perfect to you no matter what! 🙂

I wish my engagement had been longer because it was such a special time. I got married pretty much 6 months to the day after a I got engaged. Yes, I totally got stressed. But it is a time in your life that (as you say, hopefully) you can never go back to. So you’re right to say to enjoy it.

We had about 9-10 months after we got engaged, but I totally feel you on it being short! I definitely see the benefit of a longer engagement!

Yes, relaxing is so important during that process! I forgot how to do it too.

I did too a little bit, which is why I like to share this tip with my girlfriends!

Hello beautiful! 4 years after the “deed” I can testify this must be the best tip ever, I wish I would have taken more time to appreciate every little thing that I was feeling and that was happening around me….
ps: you two are gorgeous ♥

I love this tip. Usually, brides are so worried about everything looking perfect that they forget to actually enjoy the day for what it is- which is the best day of your life and marrying your best friend!!! So, I love this! And you guys look amazing <3 <3 I bet it was magical.

Thanks so much Carlie! It was an amazing day! It definitely went by in a blur, but even if some little things went wrong, overall the whole day was one of the best days of my life!

As someone who’s worked with a lot of brides as an event planner, I can definitely agree with this tip! The other thing I’ve noticed is that brides and grooms are often so busy greeting their guests that they forget to eat. My advice to brides is always to relax and have some canapés!
Brittany says
Yes! I was told the same thing so I made darn sure someone got me a plate of food! Especially since my mother-in-law’s family made most of the food we had at our wedding, I definitely wanted to eat it!

YES! The thing that I am the most grateful for, is that I was able to just relax and soak in everything. It did help HUGELY that I had a lot of family support as far as the planning went, but it was just wonderful to really just enjoy the whole process. 🙂

I’m glad you were able to take time to soak it all up! Getting married is such an amazing experience, and there’s so much to look forward to!

Beautiful couple. As a newlywed myself, I completely agree with your tip! On that special day, the little things aren’t as important as the person you’re with and the memories you are going to make together. <3 I love this
Brittany says
Thanks Kaitlynn, and congrats on your marriage! 🙂
