It’s the first post of December lovelies! Also, I totally didn’t even realize it, but last week I made my 100th post on the blog!!!!! Can you believe it?! Cause I freakin’ can’t. Time feels like it has just flown by, and I get more and more excited about blogging every day. It never feels like a job to me, so I guess that’s a good sign 😉
Anywho, today’s post is titled “Portland Street Style” cause I felt very Portland hipster in this outfit lol. Also, I always feel like the stereotypical “Portland street style” is dark skinny jeans with black ankle boots and a very minimal top. Maybe add a beanie, put a few rips in the knees of the jeans, and BAM, you’re a hipster from Portland.
The coat I’m wearing is an MK Michael Kors double breasted wool blend peacoat from their 2013 collection, but it’s still available in red here. Also, if you’re still in the market for a winter coat, see my latest post here for 3 of my favorite types of coats.
My legs look so long in this picture! Part of that is of course the angle of the photo, but a great way to make your legs look longer is to wear the same color/tone of shoes and pants. For example, here I’m wearing a pair of INC International Concepts leggings (similar here) tucked in to black ankle booties. This combo tricks the eye into seeing one long cohesive line, instead of breaking up where your pants (and essentially your legs) end and your shoes begin. If you’re wearing something above the knee, you can wear skin colored shoes to achieve this trick as well 🙂
This bucket bag is from Old Navy and it’s one of my favorite bags (and it’s still available here!). It can hold all of my crap that I insist on carrying around with me, and I love that it’s not the usual structured bag that everyone wears (although there is nothing wrong with a kick ass structured bag, Lord knows I’m dying to get my hands on this Coach purse).
My top is a cropped sleeveless sweater from Express that I got 1/2 off the clearance price (yesssss). I love it so much! It’s so comfy, and it’s the perfect crop top. Here are two similar versions that I really love – #1 and #2. I’ve also worn it with a pink pencil skirt here, and I also love wearing it with a pair of sweats or leggings at home. I don’t know why, but it totally makes me feel cool to wear it haha 😛
Alright, so what do you guys think? Do I embody Portland street style in this outfit? Maybe next time I’ll wear some ripped skinnies with a beanie, I think that would enhance the hipster vibe 😉 lol

B

LOVE your outfit. And definitely agree with your Portland street style! I have black pants, black boots and a long beige jacket VERY similar to this outfit. If we ran into one another on the street we would totally be matching. Lol!
