Hopefully by now y’all know I love fashion but HATE spending a ton of money on clothes and accessories (if you need proof, see here, here, and here 😛 ). As I get older, my style is shifting into (what I hope) is less trendy and more chic and timeless. This comes with expenses as it’s hard to look chic without shelling it out, right? WRONG bb! Here’s how you can look chic for less 😉

How to Find Deals that Save you $$$
Not gonna lie, I shop a lot. But guess what? I don’t spend a lot of money. That’s because I’ve learned allll the tricks for finding deals, coupon codes, and cash-back programs, and I’m spilling the tea tonight girl.
But first, an example…
I recently went shopping for new shoes at DSW.com. DSW is one of my favorite online spots to shop for shoes because they have designer brands for less (one of my fave shoe brands is Marc Fisher, and DSW has so many styles!). So last time I shopped online at DSW, I bought four pairs of shoes that would have cost me over $275 if I shopped straight from the brand’s websites (or even somewhere like Nordstrom). Instead, I paid $135.56. I got a major discount by 1.) shopping at a discount store, 2.) scouting for a promotion code, and 3.) using Rakuten to earn cashback.
Tips to Look Chic While Saving $$$
So, to recap, if you want to save money on the items you are going to be purchasing, shop at discount stores like DSW, Nordstrom Rack, Sacks Off 5th, and outlet stores. Then, search around for coupon or promotion codes. Bloggers typically share these on their Instagram because we get them e-mailed to us to promote. So check your fave bloggers IG stories, or DM them directly! Trust me, we’re always happy to help you save money 🙂
Lastly, sign up for Rakuten. You can install the Chrome extension right into your browser toolbar, and it will prompt you if you’re on a website that offers a cash-back percentage. Once you hit a certain amount of money saved, they’ll direct deposit your savings straight into your PayPal, or send you a check 🙂

Love the bandana. And your purse looks expensive. Polk and dots are one of my favorites. You look expensive and it’s all well put together.
Brittany Nicole says
Thanks Charlotte! The purse I got for 50% off! Saks Off 5th is my jam haha

These are great tips! I also love when I put things into my cart and then leave a store. Usually within a few days the store has emailed me a few times. It starts by asking “did you forget something?” and within 48 hours it usually turned into “buy now using this 15% off discount code!”. Sometimes I try that too if it isn’t something I need to buy right away!
Brittany Nicole says
That’s such a great tip, I forgot about that too!

I agree with using promotion codes. Some of the clothing brands who gave me clothes provided codes for my followers. It’s nice that I receive email notifications whenever they use my code. At the same time, I also get a small amount from it. It’s a win win situation.
Brittany Nicole says
It’s nice to get a little something off the price and save money! And bloggers are always great at sharing their codes!

Right when I saw your picture I knew it was DSW – love that store! You’re absolutely right, sometimes it’s just not worth spending a ton of money on accessories/clothes, especially things that grow out of style. Thanks for the tips!

I can tell you for sure that as you get older, the less you care about trends. Comfort overcomes all. Also as you stop growing you find that having “timeless pieces’ is just more economical too!
Brittany Nicole says
I can see how that would be true! Thanks for reading!!

I prefer buying clothes in person as different brands tailor sizes differently and I’ve been burnt. I love DSW and use my discounts too. Also, thrifting can get you so many vintage cuties for the cost of one item at a regular store. I’m not into cheap, fast fashion so I ensure my clothes last and i don’t buy trends that fizzle with the seasons.
Brittany Nicole says
I have a hard time buying online sometimes too – especially jeans and tighter fighting clothes. I tend to stick to brands that I know the fit! Thanks for taking the time to read and comment, Kemi!

I am a huge sale and discount shopper, I love quality clothing from stores like J Crew and Madewell but could never afford them full price. I also buy a lot second hand, really good clothes last so much better and you’d be amazed what you can pick up nearly new! Some of my favourite pieces were purchased second hand and it saves so much money! x
Brittany Nicole says
I love thrifting but need to be better about it! I need to find a roundup of good Thrift stores, both local and online!
