Hello lovelies! Welcome to Wednesday’s post! Today I’m sharing my top 5 tips for dressing for Casual Friday. Maybe you’re like me and work in an administrative office, but, you know, you still need to look somewhat put together on Casual Friday (but you may also go pick out pumpkins with your girlfriend after work, then hit up Happy Hour)? Well, here are my 5 tips on how to accomplish just that 😉
1. Rock your favorite pair of nice jeans – this means they should be well fitted, comfortable, and ladies…no rips! You’re still at work, not the local tavern, OK? For me this means a comfortable pair of straight leg or skinny jeans. Jeggings are OK as long as they aren’t too fake denim looking (***TIP – I always pair my jeggings with a longer blouse so that you can’t see the stretchy waist band and lack of zipper!). I especially love these jeggings from Liverpool Jeans Company.
2. Wear your most comfortable (but cute!) flats  – now, I know it’s “Casual” Friday and all that, but try and stay away from tennis shoes (unless you work somewhere like Nike or Adidas, in which case, rock on with your tennis shoe self). For some ideas about what flats to wear this fall and winter season, see my previous post here!
3. Dress it up with a flowy top – my go-to, most favorite look of all time, is skinny jeans with a loose top. I don’t know why, but I always feel comfortable yet super chic if I’m wearing this combo. Try a long bell sleeve black blouse, like this one that I’m wearing but you can’t see (lol) from Veronica M, or a loose fitting t-shirt for some cool girl vibes and your set for Casual Friday at work AND the Happy Hour drinks with co-workers that follows.
4. Monochrome it up! – I’m pretty sure there’s some universal unknown power surrounding monochrome looks…you could be wearing black leggings, sweater, beanie, and tennies, but the Power of Monochrome transforms you from lazy college student to trendy hipster. It’s crazy, I don’t get, but I for sure roll with it. So try wearing a monochrome look on your next Casual Friday at the office and see if it doesn’t elevate your look to the next level (and be sure to leave me a comment below 😉 ).
5. Spice it up with the details – this is the fun part! Don’t be afraid to wear that statement necklace you’ve had hanging in your closet, or a thick choker scarf to add a little flair. The most important thing to keep in mind is to just be yourself and have fun with it! For this look, I decided on my inscribed necklace that the hubs got me for our 1 year wedding anniversary, a fun scarf for some color and texture, and my favorite MK Michael Kors camel coat (cause I live in Portland, and the rain here is real).
That’s it for my top 5 tips for dressing for Casual Friday at the office! Leave me a comment below if you liked this post and let me know what some of your favorite Casual Friday looks are 🙂
Have a great rest of your week everyone and I’ll talk to ya on Friday!
