During my trip to Denver, Colorado over the past weekend, I got to try lots of different restaurants and bars in the Downtown Denver area. I had so much fun and had some really amazing food and drinks, and I wanted to share my experience with you all!
Restaurants:
- Hapa Sushi Grill and Sake Bar – some of the BEST sushi I’ve had in a lot time with a great Happy Hour!
- Machete Tequila + Tacos – delicious margaritas and street tacos! Happy Hour has 3 tacos for $9 and a margarita for $7!
- Syrup – really yummy and fresh breakfast food with great prices!
- The Market at Larimer Square – this isn’t really a restaurant, more like a deli, but they have some DELICIOUS French Macarons!
Bars:
- Lodo’s Bar & Grill – has 2 floors, one with some beer pong and giant Jenga games and a small dance floor, and another with a tap room and outdoor patio (picks up after 11:00pm)
- ViewHouse Eatery, Bar & Rooftop – lots of different rooms with different music playing, as well as a rooftop with dance floor and fire pit
- Coyote Ugly Saloon – very interesting experience lol I guess it’s just like the movie (although I’ve never actually seen it). If you want some high energy entertainment and cheap drinks, then head here!
- Green Russell – prohibition era lounge with a really cool and mysterious atmosphere and the best craft cocktails in Denver! They even have the Bartender’s Special, where a bartender asks you about your palette and creates a cocktail just for you!
- Mynt Mojito Lounge – kind of a tight squeeze cause it’s just a really long and narrow bar, but they play really fun music!
- Brother’s Bar & Grill – your typical sports bar but with beer pong tables 😉
Things to see:
- Larimer Square – cute little square with lots of restaurants, bars, and boutiques
- 16th Street Mall – pedestrian street filled with shopping and eating galore! They even have a free bus that runs up and down the street so you don’t have to walk if you’re feeling lazy 😉
- Colorado Capital Building and Civic Center Park – beautiful park with lots of cool architecture and activities (also right by the Denver Public Library and Art Museum!)
Where to stay:
- Residence Inn Denver City Center – we had a beautiful suite on the 8th floor. The staff is amazing and there is continental breakfast every morning and free Happy Hour cocktails certain days of the week! It’s also only a 20 minute walk from the bar hopping area, and 2 blocks from the 16th Street Mall!
Those are all the places I went during my trip to Denver, Colorado over the weekend! I hope this helps you out if you ever decide to take a trip to The Mile High City!

I haven’t been to Denver in a couple of years now. I was born in Denver and used to go often when I was a kid. I miss it! It’s grown so much that I don’t know most of the places that you mention! I love 16th street mall though, it’s sooo awesome!

Omg, such a fab city! Denver is a great place with fantastic food and tons of fun. The winters are pretty cold (to someone from the South) :). Thanks for the yummy recommendations for food picks and lodging too. Love this post!

Thanks love!! Yeah they are cold, but still sunny thank goodness! It’s actually been colder in Portland this winter than Denver!
