Hey loves! A few weeks ago my hubby took me out for a fun date night in Portland and I wore the prettiest blue lace dress from Janelle James boutique. I just had to share it with you, because right after I wore this dress, a tragedy happened…read to the end to find out the whole story!

Date Night
We started our date night at Enso Urban Winery & Tasting Lounge in SE Portland. They were having a little wine and chocolate pairing event along with Bissinger’s, and anything with “wine” and “chocolate” in the title has me instantly interested. It was a lot of fun! Plus, the chocolate was delicious and they had it set up so it paired perfectly with the different tastings!
After dinner we had a really nice dinner at Mucca Osteria, a little Italian restaurant in downtown Portland. We sat outside on the sidewalk because it was such a nice day, and the food really did remind me of Italy! It’s a little pricey, but if you don’t go out that often it’s definitely a treat, and the food was delicious!
Blue Lace Dress
For my date night look I wore this really pretty blue lace dress from Janelle James Boutique (available in a really pretty orange here, or similar here and here!). I love how the deep blue color is perfect for an evening date, but it’s still very spring/summer-esque with the crochet lace details. I paired the dress with some lace up block-heeled sandals from Target (available here in black and here in taupe!). I’m really in love with these heels! They’re actually really comfy and super easy to walk in with the block heel.
So…to finish my story from above…the tragedy that happened was my hubby did the laundry! *GASP* Yes, he did the laundry, which also entailed drying all the clothes (I’m sure you know where this story is headed). Unfortunately, this beautiful blue lace dress made it in to the laundry and the dryer. The funny thing is, it’s still gorgeous, just waaayyy too short for me now LOL.
Have you ever had a laundry mishap? I just recently had ANOTHER one (this one was my fault) where I washed and dried my velvet fringe kimono (seen here) and now the fringe is completely ruined! I guess laundry just is not mine, nor my husband’s, strong suit!

Beautiful dress. I guess I mess up my clothes during laundry all the time lo. It happens to the best of us.
Yes very true! I’ve definitely ruined a few items in my laundry career LOL
Oh gosh! At least he was trying to help… Cute while it lasted!
Yeah, can’t blame him for trying 😉 He’s still a keeper!
Love that look for a date night! It has been forever since I have gotten dressed up!
We felt the same! We hardly ever go out anymore, so when we do we try and dress a little fancier 😉
Love this lace number, so chic and love how you paired it with the sandals.
Thank you lovely!
Hahaha awww, RIP dress!
haha I know, so sad!
That sounds like such a fun event – and gorgeous dress!
Thanks lady! xoxo
I may know someone who thinks this dress is gorgeous and can handle a shorter hem line… 😉
LOL I totally thought of you when I saw it come out of the wash. Now I have TWO dresses for you!
What a beautiful dress! And oh no about your laundry mishap 🙁
