Happy Monday loves ๐ I turned 28 on Saturday and in the spirit of getting older I wanted to share with you 28 things I’ve learnedย during my time on on Earth ;p

Things I've Learned by Living
- Life is short – my husband lost several good friends over the past few years and it really made me realize how short life really is.
- Everyone who enters your life does so for a reason, learn from them and appreciate them.
- Not everyone who comes into your life stays, and that’s OK.
- The best time to eat cake is whenever the FUCK you want. #YOLO
- Being kind is always the right thing to do.
- Getting pregnant isn’t as easy as my high school Health teacher made it out to be…
- Fad diets only work as long as you stay on them (and who wants to be on a diet for their entire life?!?!??? No thanks).
- It’s OK to say “No” and I encourage you to do it often!
- There is something good in everyone. If you can’t see it, you’re not looking hard enough.
- Own up to your mistakes.
- “No one can make your feel inferior without your consent.” Joe from The Princess Diaries taught me that ๐ (by way of Eleanor Roosevelt, of course).
- Seek out simple pleasures. Stay at home all day with your phone off and binge watch your favorite show. Eat an entire tub of ice cream (and feel bad about it for a second, then remember, #YOLO, then go to the gym), take a walk by yourself, just enjoy the little things in life. They’re often the big things ๐
- When relationships don’t work out, it’s not cause the other person is bad, or “didn’t realize what they had.” It just wasn’t the right relationship. Simple as that.
- It doesn’t matter if your socks match.
- Skin cancer really happens (and the scar from the surgery is for life, that tan isn’t).
- Diapers are expensive.
- People are gonna define you based on what comes out of your mouth.
- Never stop learning!
- I create my own reality.
- Happiness isn’t for sale.
- I am not the center of the universe.
- My parents actually do understand.
- Loving someone isn’t always enough.
- Actions speak wayyyy louder than words.
- Forgiving someone is quite possibly the hardest thing you’ll ever have to do, but it’s 100% worth it.
- Once I stopped comparing my relationships to romantic movies and fairy tales, I became SO much happier and was actually able to have a healthy and successful partnership (imagine that!).
- The judgement we pronounce on others usually has nothing to do with that person, and everything to do with how we feel about ourselves.
- I still don’t have life figured out (and I’m happy about it!).

My philosophy on child rearing. “Think before you speak and say what you mean and mean what you say.”

My fav is this one – Seek out simple pleasures. Stay at home all day with your phone off and binge watch your favorite show. Eat an entire tub of ice cream (and feel bad about it for a second, then remember, #YOLO, then go to the gym), take a walk by yourself, just enjoy the little things in life. Theyโre often the big things ๐
I do that once in a while and it gives me lot of pleasure.

Haha this one reminded me of real life so much ๐ Thanks for reading, Aish!

Happy 28th! This is such a great list, there are some things we just need to learn and get on with it. Enjoy ๐
PS. Joe from The Princess Diaries taught me that too!

Thank you! He’s the best ๐

Love your insights! Number 8 spoke to me the most because that’s what I’ve been learning to do more of this year! So far, it’s made realized that I have control over how I want to spend my time, and that I should always put myself first and not care about what other people think.

Thanks so much for reading Anna Jo! It’s such a weird and hard lesson to learn, but I sometimes I feel so much more at peace when I realize it and remind myself ๐

Love this post ๐๐ and you!!
One of my manyyy life lessons: Thereโs a huge difference between responding to something and reacting to something. Responding takes patience, thought and a calm demeanor๐ค๐ฝ
Ps. I subscribe to your newsletter ๐

LOVE this comment (and of course you as well my dearest!)
You’re so right, that’s a really good life lesson. Reacting is easy, responding takes effort but in the end is SO much more beneficial.
